The French Study Tour - Bon retour!
Welcome back to all the members of the French Study Tour. During the October holidays, many of our Year Ten students of French were fortunate to experience home and school life, sports, entertainment, history, culture and art in France!
The Study Tour members were fully engaged and challenged with a range of activities over the two weeks, including homestays with students from our two exchange schools, Lycée Notre Dame de Sion in Marseilles and Lycée Joffre in Montpellier. Connections and friendships made over the years with students from the two exchange schools were rekindled. The Study Tour was a wonderful opportunity to really immerse the students into French life and, of course, French language.
The final leg of the Study Tour was a brief stop in Paris. Naturally, the group visited all those beautiful and historical landmarks of Paris that they had researched; the Tour Eiffel, Le Louvre, Les Jardins des Tuileries, Les Champs Elysées, Sacre Cœur, Montmartre, Musée Grévin and Notre Dame.
The success of the French Study Tour is due to the meticulous organisation and careful planning of Mrs Carmelina Grassi, Ms Desa Lucas and Mr Darren Kowal. On behalf of the Languages Department, the participants of the study tour and their parents, thank you for this wonderful contribution to the experience of learning a language and getting all members of the team back safely.
