Overview
Students refine their skills in performing, creating, composing and responding to Music through the study of complex repertoire. They develop skills and knowledge needed to analyse and respond to how social, cultural and historical factors shape the role of music in society.

Each unit is assessed as follows:
Written Component (50%):
- Aural (25%)

Practical Component (50%):
- Prepared Repertoire (20%)
- Other Performance Activities (20%)
- Performance Examination (60%)
Reporting
Student's assessment results and overall achievement will be reflected in the end-of-semester reports.
Student Expectations/Homework
Students are expected to regularly revise all concepts covered in class to further enhance their musicianship skills and prepare for upcoming assessments. They are given specific tasks to complete at home to improve their skills across all content areas. Due to the challenging nature of the course, frequent revision and effective study is essential.
Moreover, students are expected to complete focused and effective instrumental practice daily, to prepare for the performance component of the course and other performance opportunities offered at the College.
