Year 10 Drama A
Overview
This course is designed to prepare students for Drama at Year 11 level. It enables students to extend their acting skills. Students will create scripted and self devised work, culminating in a public performance. Students will explore different realistic and non-realistic forms and styles of theatre.

Assessments
Students will be assessed on their performance skills, including voice, movement and characterisation. They will also be assessed on their ability to devise new theatre and interpret published scripts. Students will be assessed on their critical analysis of performance in extended answer form.
Reporting
A brief interim report on class work and behaviour will be issued towards the end of Term 1. The achievement for the unit will be reported as a College A-E grade. In addition, the student's approach to class work and behaviour will be reported via the usual key performance indicators.
Student expectations
Students will participate in practical workshops for each topic in order to develop and extend their practical skills. Groups will rehearse tasks during class time. The major task involves students performing in a drama night. Students are expected to learn lines and write their performance evaluations at home.
