Inclusive Education
Mary Ward
The College is proud to offer an inclusive education for students with disabilities enrolled in the Primary and Secondary settings. The Mary Ward Educational Program has a long history within the College and is an integral component of the College's culture and future.
Students with diagnosed disabilities are supported in their pursuit of the Magis by a well-resourced team of teachers and education assistants from the Mary Ward Educational Support Team.
Mary Ward Educational Services offer:
- intensive literacy and numeracy intervention and support,
- higher staff ratios in mainstream classes, excursions and camps,
- differentiated assessment,
- workplace traineeships (secondary students), and
- small group classes in Science, Community Access, Executive Functioning, Communication, Independent living and Religion (secondary students).
The College seeks to value and nurture high expectation relationships that foster feelings of value and purpose. Our facilities are purpose-built and universally accessible. The learning environment provides student-centred, evidence based, individualised programs that leverage student strengths.
