Secondary
Years 7 to 12
In Years 7 to 10, students undertake a program of study which consists of compulsory subjects (English, Health and Physical Education, Mathematics, Religious Education, Science, Humanities and Social Sciences) and elective subjects. The elective subjects include languages, practical and creative arts and technology. In Years 7 and 8, all students follow the same program including the study of one second language. In Years 9 and 10, students choose their electives.
In Years 11 and 12, the program consists of subjects accredited by the School Curriculum and Standards Authority of Western Australia which is responsible for graduation and setting examinations at the end of Year 12. Students who undertake these examinations and satisfy various conditions are eligible for an Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (ATAR) which is based on a student's Tertiary Entrance Aggregate (TEA). Half of this score is derived from the Western Australian Certificate of Education (WACE) examinations and half from assessments made by the College. As part of their study, students continue their involvement in the Religious Education Program either through the ATAR or General course, Religion and Life. For students not seeking an ATAR, a program of General and Vocational Studies prepare them for graduation and entry to Technical and Further Education or the world of work.
